The B&Q Ideal Home Show has come together with VAL House (part of Morris McCauley Construction) and international designers Garry Cohn and Aoife Rhattigan  of Garry Cohn Design to build designed  a space which is likely to capture the imagination of any family planning to take advantage of the great value which many reputable contractors are currently offering

Peter Mark Forestside hair salon provides a new look with a clean fresh Miami inspired style. The salon is bright and airy with minimalist modern glamour details. The design is quite clever with a back focal wall made out of white precast sculpted panels which gives the space a wonderful textural pattern. Sophisticated polished chrome details adorn the salon in the form of doors, moldings and trims. The space is offset with a soft dusty duck egg blue painted walls which give the feel of being near a tropical beach. The center focal point of the room is a large chrome spherical chandelier with it wave like sections that appear to be floating within the space. Luscious red velvet curtains fill the large glazed store front and that offsets the space with just the right amount of drama.

In the heart of New York City’s fashion district the Escada fashion house needed a new look for their younger fashion line showroom, Laurel. The concept of the space was to create the atmosphere of being in a Soho photographer’s studio loft. The design is minimal and void of color except for the clothes. Furthermore the showroom also emphasized that you are right in the middle of midtown Manhattan skyscrapers, by exposing all the windows and keeping them void of drapery, this helped reveal the scenic skyline as a backdrop to the clothing.

London’s premium department store Harvey Nicholsenvisioned a new look for their houte couture fashion department. Inspired by artist studios and their creative work, the design and concept of the stores is an organized free form layout that is exhibit driven. The clothing becomes the art and the customer becomes the center piece. You can see the relationship between the design of the art installations and the inspiration of the clothing. The space is an open plan which makes for an easy change of use from season to season and creating a new and exciting environment.
